Dr. Andris Sprūds is a professor at Riga Stradins University and serves on the Advisory Council of the Latvian Institute of Foreign Policy, where he was formerly the director. He holds master’s degrees in Central European history from Central European University and in international relations from the University of Latvia, as well as a PhD in Political Science from Jagiellonian University in Poland. Dr. Sprūds has been a visiting scholar at prestigious institutions such as Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Oxford, and Uppsala universities. His research interests include energy security, the politics of the Baltic Sea region, post-Soviet states, and transatlantic relations.
