Kadambay Sultanov is a highly regarded career diplomat with extensive experience in international relations and strategic leadership within Uzbekistan’s Foreign Office. His career is distinguished by a strong track record in U.S. diplomacy, European (Baltic) affairs, policy analysis, and cross-cultural negotiations, all demonstrating his ability to promote Uzbekistan’s national interests on the global stage.
Ambassador Sultanov has held numerous significant positions throughout his career. As the Chief of the Executive Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Uzbekistan, he coordinated policy development, strategic planning, and performance evaluation. His tenure as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Latvia, Finland, Estonia, and Lithuania was pivotal in building diverse partnerships with these nations.
For nearly two decades, he has been instrumental in nurturing strategic relations between Uzbekistan and the United States. His various roles within this effort include serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy in Washington, D.C., Director of the U.S. Affairs and Americas Department at the MFA, and Head of the U.S. Section at the Center for Foreign Policy Research.
In his current non-governmental capacity, Ambassador Sultanov continues to advance Uzbekistan’s reform agenda, leveraging his substantial diplomatic experience and public service to support and drive progressive changes within the country.
