Ilze Indriksone, born on October 29, 1974, in Talsi, is a Latvian environmental planning specialist and politician. She is a former Minister of Economy of Latvia and currently represents the National Alliance in the 14th Saeima. She has also served in the 13th Saeima as a deputy and as the parliamentary secretary for the Ministry of Economy. Before her work in national politics, Indriksone was a deputy and the deputy chairperson of the Talsi County Council, and she remains a member of the board at the Pedvāle Art Park.
Indriksone’s academic background is rooted in environmental sciences. After graduating from Talsi State Gymnasium in 1992, she went on to study at Bulduri Technical School of Horticulture, then earned her bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences and a qualification as an environmental engineer from the Latvian University of Agriculture in 1998. She later completed a master’s degree in environmental management from the University of Latvia in 2001.
Prior to entering the Saeima, Indriksone worked as deputy chairperson of the Talsi County Council and as a manager in the passenger transport department at Talsu Autotransports. She has also held a role in the administration of the Kurzeme planning region. Throughout her career, she has maintained a strong focus on environmental planning and management, combining her expertise in these fields with her political responsibilities.
